Christ the King Senior Choir was formed in 1968 under the direction of our first rector, the late Archdeacon Murillo A. Bonaby. It was only one choir at that time, which was responsible for leading the service at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday service. Today we still have with us three of the original members, namely Mrs. Virginia Fox, Ms. Leah O’Brien, Mrs. Albena Seymour and Mr. Nathaniel Bastian.
The first organist was Mr. Edward “Eddie” Cox who was ably assisted by Mr. E. Burrows and Mrs. Nellie Woods.
In the early 1970’s Mr. Dudley Seifert joined Mr. Eddie Cox as the assistant organist, and later was offered and accepted the position as Organist and Choir Director of Christ the King Choir. Mr. Seifert was the longest serving organist and choir director.
With the increasing membership at the 7:00 a.m. mass, the Morning Star Choir was formed in late 1988 by the Venerable Ivan Ranfurly Brown, Archdeacon of the Central Deanery to lead the service at the 7:00 a.m. under the direction of the late Mrs. Betty Swaby.
For a youthful and more contemporary musical offering, The Contemporary Chorale was formed in the 2010's , the vision of Miss Odia Richardson our then Youth Director.
The combined choir ministers at Evensong, Festivals of the Church and other special occasions, internally and externally.
