St. Ambrose Server's Guild

The Server's Guild of St. Ambrose plays a vital part in the church's sung and said masses. They assist the priest at all masses including funerals, weddings and other special events within the church. Instruments such as The Boat, The Thurible, Cross and Acolyte Torches are used.

At a sung mass the boat bearer leads the procession into the church, followed by the Thurifer, Cross and Acolytes. The Choir processes toward the altar after them with singing.

During the Holy Eucharist, the bell is rung to signify the importance of Holy Communion. The serving choir assists the celebrant in leading the service. Their main objective is to enhance the service by performing their tasks in a reverent manner which does not distract others from gaining the most out of the mass. They also help in the upkeep of the sanctuary, the altar, sacristry and all the instruments used around the altar.

Christ The King has 40+ active members in its serving choir including Lay Readers. Practice is held each Saturday from 3pm- 5pm. They are led by, Mr. Tarran Taylor and Mr. Robert Thompson. Any person wishing to serve around the altar are welcome, no matter what age or gender. Please call the church at 328-0435 for more information.
